Maxine Lily Rothstein

Wig, Makeup, & Prosthetics Artist

  • UNCSA Design and Production class of 2026

  • Licensed cosmetologist since 2022

My name is Maxine Rothstein, and I am a 21-year-old wig and makeup artist pursuing a BFA in Design and Production. I grew up in Pennsylvania, where I attended Folcroft Delaware County Technical School for cosmetology alongside my academic studies at Haverford Senior High School, from which I graduated.

I began studying hair and makeup in a salon setting at age 15 through my technical school, with the goal of graduating with my cosmetology license. During this time, I served on the student council and was honored to receive the President’s Award from my cosmetology program. I decided to complete my academic coursework online while focusing full-time on cosmetology, allowing me to successfully achieve my license.

Through this experience, I discovered a deeper passion for using hair and makeup as an artistic medium beyond the traditional salon environment. Creating art through hair and makeup has profoundly shaped who I am and continues to drive my creative work. I am incredibly grateful for the education and support I receive at UNCSA, and I am excited to continue growing and exploring where this journey will take me within the industry.
